Public Service: Next meeting and a call for volunteers

The public service committee and BAARC are looking for volunteers with talents and interests across the board, from web and creative design to media planning and salesforce.com know-how (and anything in between). We will next meet on April 30 to delve into the organization’a most immediate needs and create projects to help to enhance understanding and knowledge of the important role the BAARC plays in the Bay Area advertising community. For must up-to-date meeting info, please check out our Facebook page.

In order to determine the most important first steps, we will need to gain an understanding of the community’s knowledge of and attitude toward BAARC. Please take a few minutes to complete our brief survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/R8ZBD3H.

San Francisco Agency Tour Day
When: April 4th, 9:30-3:30
Where: Carat, AKQA, Heat SF, Pereira O’Dell, Goodby Silverstein & Partners, Evolution Bureau, Greater than One, & and AOL Publisher Lunch.

This is a chance for college students and young professionals to receive a first hand glimpse into a day of an advertising/marketing agency and the marketing professionals that run them. Participants will go one 1 of 2 tracks, being able to 3 local agencies along with a lunch at an online publisher at AOL.

On May 23rd, we are putting together an event to get advertising professionals and students in front of your elected leaders.

March ADness Happy Hour and Fundraiser

Last month, the AD2SF board did a little guest bartending at Soda Popinski’s for an AD2SF happy hour/fundraiser. Due to its success we will definitely doing something like it again so keep your eyes out.

2014 Student Addy Awards

Last month, AD2SF in collaboration with the Greater SF Ad Club gathered at Bluxome Winery to host the local Student American Advertising Awards. We held the event in conjunction with the Professional Competition, which is run by Greater San Francisco Ad Club. Ad agencies from all over the Bay Area came out and packed the event that included an open wine bar and food truck.

Congratulations to all our winners and we hope to see you all next year!!!

5th Annual Portfolio Review

Participants were able to meet one-on-one with creative directors and/or agency recruiters from some of the spiciest agencies around SF. This get immediate (and brutally honest) feedback on the things you’ve worked so hard on.
